Hi All -
We had a wonderful turnout for our March 17 Work Trip last Saturday. Twenty-two people attended which is awesome. It could not have been a better day. We had six crews out covering most of our section of he trail. Thank you so much to Fran and Jenni for the blue blazing work they did on the Albright Loop. This is our blue year for blazing. Will, Eric, Chris and Margaret for getting the one tree down on the west side (sorry there weren't more) and for the general maintenance done in that area. Dave W., Dave G., Tom, Aseeyah and Greg for covering the section between Humpback Parking and Humpback Picnic, removing the trees and other maintenance activities...including removing a large firescar. Karen, Marilyn and Betty, who really cleared out the waterbars along the Albright Loop. Jim, Christine, Ed and Russ for covering the long north section from Rockfish Gap to Humpback Parking removing fallen trees and other maintenance activities. Finally, to the group that was with me, Margaret, Claudia and Mike for carrying 40 pounds of lime down to the privy (the bucket is full and then some), and then working on switchbacks and stairs on the way back up. It was a long day and everyone worked very hard --thank you so much!
Our next work trip will be to help Cyrus at the James River Wildlife Refuge. Sorry for the short notice, but Cyrus asked to be notified by March 23 with a headcount. Here are the details. I have 10 people signed up so far and there is no limit. We'll determine carpools when I get a final headcount.
