Saturday morning before .......
Every year, an inventory must be performed of all the club tools and equipment. Saturday was the day that happened. In addition, a paint 'facelift' was planned for the drab and dark interior of the tool shed. Taking on the tool shed inventory/paint project were Steve Y. and John O. with assistance from Chris W.
The inventory was complicated by the crews needing tools and equipment first thing so they could get out on the AT to start work on their projects. John was taking notes on what tools were 'leaving the building' in hopes that this would help the process. What remained in the shed had to be taken out so prepping the walls could be started (sweeping out the shed, brushing off the dirt, spiderwebs and whatever else was clinging to the cinder block walls). Since the crews would be coming back in around 5:00, it was important to get the paint on the walls as soon as possible so it could dry before tools needed to go back in the shed.
Chris W. played a significant role in providing the transportation to the Waynesboro Home Depot to get more paint when the original supply ran out. Despite having a paint sample and being the same store, although in a different location, the paint didn't quite match; however, with tools hanging on the walls, it was not a very obvious difference. It was quite a shock (a pleasant one!) to see the difference as we took our tools back to the shed after a day on the trail ..........
Saturday evening after!!
Wow!! The tool shed interior is dark, dank and drab-looking no more!
