Nineteen members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, part of the Prescott Fire Department, lost their lives Sunday, June 30th, while battling the 2,000-acre Yarnell Hill fire that ignited Friday south of Prescott. This is reported to be the worst loss of firefighter lives since 1933.
Deepest sympathy and prayers from Virginia for the families, friends and co-workers of the firefighters lost in Arizona ..... they were first responders of the most courageous sort, trying to save lives and property at the risk of their own.
