Wicked Wienies

Wicked Wienies
Wicked Wienies

Large Batch in Crockpot:
  • 2 packages Little Smokies (about 50 per pack, total 100)
  • 1 bottle (32 or 36 oz) ketchup
  • 1 bottle (10-16 oz.) BBQ sauce (about 1/2 the amount as ketchup - ounces don't have to be exact)
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Directions:
  1. Combine well: ketchup, BBQ sauce, bourbon, brown sugar & Worcestershire sauce. I usually do this in a pan on the stove and heat everything enough to get the sugar dissolved and all ingredients well-combined, but you could combine it all cold.
  2. Add sausages to the crock pot, then pour sauce over them.
  3. Cook on high for several hours, then switch to low for a couple of hours. Stir every couple of hours. Sausages become more dense (& delicious) the longer they cook (6-8 hours or so).

Small batch (Crockpot or Stove-Top):

Little Smokies (1 pkg)
2 cups ketchup
1 cup BBQ sauce
1/4 cup bourbon
1/4 cup brown sugar
1-2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

This smaller batch is good for a quick 'stove top' version .... use a pan to make the sauce as above, then add the Little Smokies and simmer until heated through (see package directions for how long/temp to heat). Not quite the same as those cooked in the crockpot for hours, but still really good!
